WebI was in a similar boat. Had a Surface Pen 1 charging cradle, and was unable to update it's firmware. If you're near a Best Buy that has a Microsoft Store section, consider going there, plugging the charging cradle in to one of their floor models, running windows update, then scooting. The whole process took like, 30 seconds at the device. WebUnfortunately it won't charge with any Qi chargers. I've tried that. You will need special Microsoft charger for slim pen or charge it with your Surface Laptop Studio. By the way, I've tried the slim pen 2 with my old surface pro 5 and it jitters as hell.
